Go to an ancient Castle – Cardiff castle is over 2000 years old and still going strong. There is so much to see and do here, including the famous and much-loved animal wall, and Bute Park, that both young and old will enjoy a day out at this magnificent old building. Better still it is right in the heart of Cardiff itself, so if you are visiting you really don’t have far to travel!
Eat at the Clink – A restaurant with a difference! Dine out in the clink and you will be having a meal in prison! Far from old fashioned prison fare though, this restaurant rustles up some delicious food, which has won many awards for, and it is all prepared by prisoners working towards qualifications in food preparation, so they leave prison with a potential career.
Sully Island – If you want to go and see a real-life smugglers island take a trip over to Sully Island. It is a fascinating place to go and visit, said to be the place of many smugglers ships in the past – time it right though, as the causeway is only open for a few hours either side of low tide!
Shopping – If you are lucky enough to be based in the city centre or even to work there like Cardiff web designers Ambercouch, you will find that Cardiff is a top shopping destination! The new St David’s Arcade is a real must for fashion lovers, and you could also take a walk to Cardiff indoor market, or even a spot of antique hunting at Jacobs antiques, near the train station for four floors of hidden gems! There really is something to please everyone.
