Care home included in huge Derbyshire Dales project

A new care home is set to be included in the largest regeneration project ever planned in the Derbyshire Dales, offering much-needed facilities for older residents alongside new housing and business space.

The development is planned on the former Ashbourne Airfield site

Approval has been secured for nearly 300 new homes. Local authorities are now exploring how the site can provide community facilities and services, including a care home, to meet the demand for residential care in the district.

Part of a wider vision

Derbyshire Dales Council has emphasised that the inclusion of care facilities is part of a broader vision for mixed-use development. The scheme aims to combine housing, employment opportunities, and specialist accommodation for older people, helping to address gaps in local services. Planning officers have highlighted the importance of ensuring that new developments support residents’ long-term needs, particularly in light of the area’s ageing population.

Local residents are being invited to provide feedback on the plans

These will help shape the final delivery of the project. Council representatives said the consultation process is a key step in ensuring that the development is sustainable, inclusive, and meets the community’s expectations. If this is a sector you want to work in, care assistant jobs Kildare are available at www.caremark.ie/job-opportunities/care-assistant-jobs-kildare/.

This is a job in which you can really make a difference.

New jobs for local staff

By integrating care services within the larger development, the project aims to foster a sense of community while addressing both housing and healthcare needs in the Derbyshire Dales.
