Things to Think About if you are Considering a Move to the Countryside

With many of us over the past year having to stay in our homes, it has prompted a lot of people to assess their lives and their priorities. As we all adjusted to life in lockdown, a new appreciation for nature and the countryside was something that many people started to enjoy. If this all sounds familiar and is something that you are considering yourself, there are a few things to do before you make the leap into the countryside, especially if you have been in the city for a long time or even all your life!

The first thing to do is to have a look around and visit various places that you might want to live in. Not all rural locations are the same, so it is a good idea to go a few times and get a general feel for the place at different times of the day and on weekdays as well as weekends.

Speaking to the locals and people who live there is a great idea, as well as registering with a local estate agent such as this Gloucester estate agents TGRES who will know the area and will be able to provide you with details of the sort of properties that you are looking for.

There are many benefits to living in the countryside, but it is also important to remember before you do commit that you will need to work out how you will go about your daily life – factor in things like public transport, local schools and amenities and services nearby – it can be a shock to the system when moving from the city!
